Can I Use Combipatch For Hot Flashes And Night Sweats?

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Jun 2024
Question: I'm 55 years young and I started on Combipatch about 2 months ago for hot flashes and night sweats. Keep in mind that I have all of my internal parts. I've never had a hysterectomy or any real major surgery. But on May 6 I started bleeding it's like brownish dark blood and sometimes its regular looking red blood. I feel this change in my body has something to do with my hormones and menopause. Do you think that I should ask my doctor to conduct an ultrasound because there could be something wrong? I'm very concerned about endometrium cancer, Do you think that could be a possibility this quickly or am I becoming paranoid. Please advise me on what I should do because I truly want this bleeding/spotting to stop especially since I have not had a period for over 4 years now.

Brief Answer:
Your problem needs further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
As per your description these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance or due to endometrial carcinoma.
Your problem needs investigations.
Get your pelvic ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness and other causes of your symptoms.
Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also.
For excessive bleeding you can use medication.
you have to take high protein diet and lots of vegetables and fruits, you can take iron and calcium supplements.
It is not normal at your age to bleed like this due to hormonal changes ,Get your hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy ( if endometrial thickness more in ultrasound).
Get your vaginal pap smear also
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck

This same thing happen to me about 4 years ago while I was on mimvy hormone replacement and it initially started My endometrial lining was very thick like someone who had cancer but it turned out I did not have cancer and after I had the test again it showed my lining thickness was back normal. So, I don't know what's going on now. What will happen with the bleeding and my hot sweats of I stop taking the combipatch right now

Brief Answer:
It could be due hormonal changes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Thickened endometrium at your age either could be due to hormonal imbalance ( estrogen and progesterone imbalance) or it could be due to endometrial carcinoma
This bleeding could be due to hormonal changes, if it happened before also but endometrial biopsy is important to rule out the cause.
You can 5ake medicine to stop bleeding.

what medicine do you mean I can take to stop bleeding? Do you think I could have a carcinoma this quick and only been on the patch for about 2 months? Now all day today I have not been bleeding at all today. I am very confused by all of this. Lets say I just wait how long do you think I should wait until I have another ultrasound and see if my endometrium lining goes back down to normal? If I truly have a thick endometrium lining very thick, it should not change. Correct or how does that work?

Sorry for so many questions but I really need answers. Thanls

Brief Answer:
You have to go for ultrasound now

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
You have to go for your ultrasound now only to see the endometrial thickness.
I am not saying you have develop carcinoma in 2months period but at your age after menopause if you are bleeding this cause rule out first.
You can take tranxemic acid for bleeding and please share your previous reports
