Question : How soon after my 12 year old has taken 2 otc ibuprfen can I safely give her tylenol

Hi,

You can give it immediately if there is a need to reduce the temperature of the child. If there is no immediate need and that the temperature is under 100 F, then you can wait for 8 hours safely.

So it all depends on the indication to give Tylenol. Sometimes home remedies like tepid sponging are more effective than Tylenol for reducing the temperature.
