Question : Can L2-L4 vertebral body hemangiomas cause headaches?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it can
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
The spinal cord ends at lower border of L1. If the hemangioma is occupying the spinal canal and is pulling down on the spinal nerves, it may lead to headache.
If the hemangioma is not in the canal but still is compressing or pulling the nerves, it may lead to headache.
Also is CSF pressure is raised due to block in its flow by the hemangioma or there is increased production by it, headache can result.
Hope, I have been helpful.
Regards
