
Can Lasix And Potassium Chloride Supplement Be Taken Together?

Question : My doctor prescribed me potassium CL ER 10 Meq C-2 pills a day. Can I take both of them in the morning at the same time? They are HUGE horse pills. Thanks! XXXX XXXXXXX

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that you may take those 2 pills concomitantly even if it is prescribed just for hypokalemia prophylaxis and no clinical hypokalemia is present).
Hypokalemia prophylaxis is generally started with 20 mEq orally once daily.
But, you need to be careful and periodically check your renal function tests and blood electrolytes level.
