Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms are not related to lipitor intake as it is not known to cause cough as an adverse effect.

i would recommend performing some tests to investigate for the possible underlying causes:

- a chest X ray study
-complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation
-allergy tests for possible allergies.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
