Brief Answer:
Yes it takes time

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Zoloft is SSRI group of antidepressant which usually takes two to four weeks to show significant improvement. Similarly other antidepressants used for treatment of anxiety take more or less similar time.

As I said above although they take time but if you are not showing response with Zoloft there is need to change medication preferably from different category like SNRI. During changing time clonazepam like to help you to control your anxiety symptoms.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

I am thinking about changing psychiatrists.. Do you believe geriatric MD's in this field are more likely to prescribe correct meds And dosage.

Brief Answer:
I think so

Detailed Answer:
Dear Farrell,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I respect your decision to change psychiatrist.

I think a geriatric psychiatrist will be definitely better equipped to help a person of 82 years. Most of geriatric psychiatrist deal with only elder patients and they have better experience in compare to general psychiatrists.

I hope this helps you further.
Thanks again.
