Question: I regularly take Crestor 10 mg, Synthroid .05 mcg, Cialis 5 mg, and Ambien 10mg PRN. I also take a multivitamin, calcium, resveratrol, Vit D, CoQ10, and fish oil, and I drink moderately. Don't smoke. I was experiencing shortness of breath, DID A SRESS TEST WITH NUCLEAR ISOTOPES, The Cardiologist says I have BLOKAGE IN ONE CORONY ARTERY,AND THE CARDIOLOGIST IS STARTING ME ON A BETA BLOCKER (METOPROLOL TARTRATE 25MG X 2) AND AN ADULT ASPIRIN. IN TEN DAYS HES DOING A HEARTH XXXXXXX AND LIKELY ANGIOPLASTY. Any interactions or precautions??

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the only interaction between your current therapy and Metoprolol is Cialis, which increases levels of Metoprolol, thus leading to increased risk for low blood pressure or low heart rate.

So, I would recommend you to closely monitor heart rate and blood pressure. You may need to start in low doses and increase slowly.

Regarding aspirin, there is nothing to worry about!

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr.Iliri
