Can Montair LC Be Taken For A Long Duration?

Question: Sir, I am taking One Tab. of Montair LC since last 3/4 years. I would like to know if this is safe ? What could be worst side effect ? I tried to stop few times but as soon as I stop, my problem of Breathlessness increases. I am a COPD patient. I inhale 2 Foracort 200 (rotacap) per day. Please advise.

I have gone through your query. Montec LC is monteleukast and levocetirizine combination. For avoiding allergic episodes it is given for long term. As you are a COPD patient it will benefit by decreasing acute attacks.

As any other drugs it also have side effects. Usual side effects are drowsiness , weakness or low energy.. But considering problems arising during COPD this is no a big thing. When you get attack of COPD (breathlessness) tissue oxygenation will be decreased and effects on vital organs will be more vulnerable. As the Benefits of taking Montec LC outweighs the side effects you can take it.;
