Question : I am taking nitrofurantoin for a urinary tract infection. I have 2.5 days left of taking nitrofurantoin.

I have been prescribed zithromax for a sinus infection and would like to begin taking it today. Are these two drugs safe to take together?

I'm healthy overall. I take 2 mg Estradoil daily. I'm allergic to sulfa.

Take them with a difference in time of 2 hours

Hi dear and thanks for your query.

You can take both of them in a day because zithromax and nitrofurantoin don't interact with each other ,but to be safe , take them with a difference in time of 2 hours,because while you can take them together you may have increase side effects of them.

Zithromax and nitrofurantoin do not decrease the effect of estradiol.
