Brief Answer:
most persons need to continue

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

IN some persons if there are other factors affecting blood pressure such as excess weight, and this factor is corrected, blood pressure can be maintained at normal with only lifestyle.

Most patients with high blood pressure however, need to continue the medication.

If your blood pressure returns to normal, it is likely due to the medication working. When the medication is continued, the pressure may increased.

It is quite understandable not to want to take medication for the long haul, most persons feel this way but you may want to weigh the risks associated with high blood pressure against using the medication.
Medical studies have shown that the risk of heart disease and stroke doubles with every 20 mm Hg increase of systolic (top value) and 10 mmHg increase in diastolic (bottom value) above 115/75.

If you experience side effects with the medication , your doctor can change to one that you may not experience any issues.

In the end the decision is up to you but you may want to look at risks of hypertension, benefits of medications vrs your concerns.
You may want to speak to your doctor regarding any concerns about the medication

Summary: blood pressure may rise with medication discontinuation

Balance the pros and cons, in the end the decision is up to you but need to look at all factors first

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
