Question : My doctor prescribed 30 mgs nortriptyline and 150 mgs trazadone. I wanted to make sure that I was not being over medicated.
Brief Answer:
Need not worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.
Thanks for posting to us.
I understand your concern.
Nortriptyline and Trazodone are antidepressant drugs.
Your doctor has given the right dose only.
Total maximum daily dose of nortriptyline is 75-100 mg. We start with a lower dose and increase gradually if needed.
Trazodone is usually initiated at 150 mg/day in divided doses and can be given upto 400 mg per day if needed.
There is no significant interaction between the two drugs, and you are started with the right dose. Nothing to worry-be confident.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
Need not worry.
