Can Panderm Plus Be Used For An Open Wound On The Thigh?

Question: Dear Doctor,

Can I use panderm+ cream for post burn boils? Approx. 3"x 2" area on my thigh region got burnt due to spillage of hot (just boiled) water. Two big boils were formed within 7-8 hours. I have been taking out the fluid forming inside the boils thereafter and applying Soframycin. But, boils are forming again with fluid inside. The incident happened on 12.08.2016 at around 57 hours before. What other medicine do you prescribe ?

Thanks for your query.

No, Panderm may not be a suitable treatment.

You can use Silverex cream or mupimet ointment.

You just need a antibiotic cream which prevents infection and promote healing. Silverex and mupimet are such creams.

Panderm contains steroid which is not advisable in open wounds.
