Posted on Wed, 23 Nov 2016
Question: My wife can only take food by G-tube. She can't swallow. She has been prescribed Pantoprazole 40 mg tablets. How can this be taken by G-tube? Instructions are to not crush. Even crushing, particles are too big. Is there a liquid alternative?

Brief Answer:
available as granules

Detailed Answer:
Hi.,
Thank for your query, albeit short and specific.
Read and understood the history related to your wife, taking food by G-tube, wants to know how to give Pantoprazole 40 as it is not to be crushed, particle are big and can not pass through the G-tube....
Please consult your Pharmacy and to ask for Pantoprazole granules that can be passed through G-tube; in fact it is made by company for this purpose.

I hope this answers your query.
