Brief Answer:
Not likely...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there..

Thanks for writitng in.

It is quite unlikely for the pantoprazole to cause congestion and frequent clearing of the throat.

The common possibilities are GERD, upper respiratory infection or allergies etc.

I would advise you to follow the below mentioned measures , which might help control GERD symptoms:

1. Avoid spicy, oily , fatty foods.
2. Avoid pappad and pickles.
3. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, carbonated beverages, smoking.
4. If overweight, try to lose weight.
5. Regular exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week.
6. Have smaller frequent meals rather than 3 large meals.
7. Drink warm water at regular intervals, which might aid in digestion.
8. Avoid exercising/sleeping /lying down immediately after a meal. Wait for at least 2-3 hours before doing so.

Hope you found my answer helpful.
