Question: Hello,

Please forward this question to Dr Divakara(Internal Medicine Specialist). I have few follow up questions for the earlier consultation.

Hello Dr Divakara,
My previous consultation is pasted below. I have mentioned few follow up questions after that.

"Hi.
How are you?
I have few general questions about 'heart attacks'.
1) Could you please tell me what are the symptoms of heart attack?
2) Please watch the video at the link https://youtu.be/DiiKFrghvGw
It is a 3 minute video, in which the doctor suggests to consume 3 medicines if a person experiences symptoms of heart attack. Is the suggestion
given by doctor correct?
3) If yes, Can I get these tablets at a medical shop by merely mentioning the brand names that the doctor has suggested? Or Are these general
names (not specific to any brand) ?
a Disprin 325mg 1
tab
b Clopitab 150 mg 2
tablet
c Atorvastatin 80mg 1
tablet
d Diagene
Looking forward to your reply."

Detailed Answer:
HI
Greeting from Dr. Divakara.P
First of all thanks for choosing Healthcaremagic for posting such a wonderful query.
The symptoms which I will be describing are of a classical heart attack, there may not be always presence of all the symptoms during heart attack .
So presence of any 1 should alert you about the chance of heart attack.
1. Chest Pain : Typically the pain will be squeezing type occurring over a wide area of chest. ( not localised to one particular point ) . If you ask the
patient to describe where the pain is he will use his fist or entire palm to shown the site of pain and not just a finger .
2. Radiation of Pain : The chest pain may extend to Left hand ( very classical of heart attack ) but sometimes it may extend to neck , back or even
abdomen or right hand.
3. Sweating : Many times chest pain will be associated with Sweating .
4. Breathlessness : Many times chest pain will be associated with breathlessness.
5. Giddiness : Many times chest pain will be associated with Giddiness.
Even if the pain subsides after taking some antacid or gastric medication it doesn't mean that it is not due to heart attack . I have come across many
patient who had chest pain in the night and they took some antacid medication and the chest pain subsided . But next day morning when they were
tested with ECG it showed a massive heart attack .
Now coming to the video and the doctor's advise whatever he has said is right. These are the medicines which will give some benefit during heart
attack but again stressing you that after taking these medicines the patient should immediately reach the hospital and get checked .
The medicines advised are brand names , these are the medicine names
1. Aspirin = Dispirin.
2. Clopidogrel = Clopitab
3. Atorvastatin = Atorvastatin.
In addition to this I advice one more tablet called Sorbitrate .
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
Regards.

Follow up questions are below:
1) Sorbitrate is available as 5mg and 10 mg, Which one I should purchase?
2) My mother is taking Rozucor ASP 10 - 1 tablet everyday. Rozucor ASP 10 ( Rosuvastatin 10 and Aspirin 75 mg) . We have plenty of these tablets available at my home. So can these taken instead of Atorvastatin 80mg and Dispirin 325 mg. ? Or do you advice to stick with the same medicines?

Looking forward to your reply.

Brief Answer:
Can take Rosucor ASP instead of Atorvastatin.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

I suggest 10mg Sorbitrate.

Similarly, I would suggest Rosuvastatin instead of Atorvastatin ( nothing changes ) but in case of Rosuvastatin you need to take 40mg instead of 80mg Atorvastatin. So you need to take 4 tablets of Rosucor ASP.

The ASP is Rosucor ASP and Dispirin both contains Aspirin . But in Dispirin , the tablet dissolves easily in water and hence the absorption of Aspirin is faster which in turn leads to faster effect of Aspirin. While aspirin is Rosucor ASP doesn't get absorbed as fast as Dispirin and hence the onset of action is slightly slow .

My suggestion is keep Dispirin at home ( it doesn't cost much ) and you can take both Dispirin and Rosucor ASP together ( extra dose of Aspirin doesn't cause any problem )

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.
