Question: I have asked and recieved two answers regarding getting a std from a hand job. Both answers told me I had nothing to worry about, however it has been about 24 days and the tip and top of my penis are still sore. My anxiety is getting the best of me should I go for a STD test?

I understand your worries.

As my other colleagues already said, no worry for STD from hand job. However, you can run the STD test to make you feel at peace.

If the tip and top of your penis are still sore, then, this could be from friction. The anxiety you are having is making you feel more pain than it is for real.


Keep good local hygiene. Avoid irritant soaps. Apply topical anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. hydrocortisone) together with anti-fungal cream (e.g. clotrimazole). Zinc oxide cream if applied locally can also help ease the irritation.

Drink plenty of fluids. Take oral painkillers (e.g. ibuprofen). Avoid sexual activities until improvement.
