Question : I gave a guy a hand job (only briefly, didn't come), and a few minutes later scratched my mouth with that same hand and I fear some of the pre-fluid might have gotten into my mouth...could I contract an std this way?

                                    Brief Answer:
You are most likely safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. You are most likely safe. Just by scratching the hand which you used for hand job you won't get STDs. So you can relax.
If there is more pre ejaculatory fluid on hands then there is some chance of bacterial STD. But still chances are less. In such case there can be symptoms like sore throat. A 1 week doxycycline will be helpful to cover all these bacterial STD s also.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Thank you for your reply, Dr. XXXXXXX As you can imagine, I'm pretty OCD. Just to clarify, even if some pre-fluid got into my mouth, I should be safe? It was minimal fluid. I've not had any sore throats. Would symptoms have been present in case of a bacterial infection?
Thanks again
                            Thanks again
                                    Brief Answer:
If you didn't had any symptoms then nothing to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
If you didn't had any symptoms then nothing to worry. Symptoms will be present in case of bacterial STDs also. If minimal fluid then chances of spread are very less also. So you can relax and forget about it.

Thank you, Doctor. Last follow-up question: I had what felt like a canker sore about a week and a half afterward. I was also traveling and tend to get stressed, so I didn't think much of til now. Would that be considered a symptom?
Thank you again

                                    Brief Answer:
You can take 1 week Doxycycline to be on safer side.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Canker sores can occur in case of syphilis. These are usually painless. If you suspect like that then you can take Doxycycline antibiotic for 1 week. This will cover syphilis and other bacterial STDs. Then you don't need to worry also.
If painful sores then it can be most likely aphthous ulcer which usually subsides in 1 week time. But better to go for 1 week Doxycycline therapy which will cover all possible bacterial STDs and help to remove your stress ad anxiety also.
Doxycycline is given 100 mg twice daily for 1 week. This is a prescription antibiotic. You can approach your GP for prescription of this.
