Can STD Be Contracted Through Oral Sex?

Question: I had an oral sex a year ago in October and after 3 month I went to the dr and had a herpes test and it's negative plus after 5 and half I had an hiv combo test and it's also negative during last year after the oral sex in October I was afraid of STd and I went to the dr to check my mouth and she told me all clean no worries now I'm really worried of std after one year and i had a sore throat three times and i had a strip throat check after the incedent in 3 to four month and it was negative twice
And recently last 2week I had a stip throat and very mild fever is that std after one year on so scared because I'm doing a work health check up and in terrified since I don't have ulcers not on my mouth or my lips and I think not sure the male penis was clear of ulcers
And does infect my vegina since I did not have sex because I'm virgin

Brief Answer:
No worries for STD.
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I understand your concern.
First, relax . In your case, as long as the tests you did were negative, then, nothing worrisome.
Having sore throat does not mean you have STD. A common viral infection or strep can be probable causes.
I do not think you have contracted STD after one year from the oral sex you had based on the info you have provided.
With regards to your vagina, no possibility of STD infection while you are still virgin.
All the best!

Hi back my dear,
Sorry for the late reply due to my XXXXXXX clinical consultations.
Thank you for providing additional photo. I saw the abscess and could be due to bacterial infection which is common complication of viral infection of ENT.
I do not see a sign of stds.
You are saying that you had surgery of tonsils (tonsillectomy ) when you were younger. I need to know if it was a complete (radical ) surgery or just partial.
Next, pharyngitis is frequently happening after tonsillectomy and could be associated with abscess.
Salivary stones that can be infected are also to consider.
I understand your concern but I think you might be overreacting and that's unnecessary.
It happens to get sore throat maybe often due to many factors including low immunity. Stress can lower your immunity. Taking good care of your throat hygiene is very important together with avoiding contact with people with sore throat.
Hope it was of help!

Brief Answer:
Still thinking of no STDs,continue meds as recommended correctly...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
First, calm down. If the throat cavity is getting better after treatment initiation, then, you should not get worried unnecessarily. Continue medications (antibiotics, and oral antiseptics and anti-inflammatory drugs) as prescribed correctly and everything is ok. I still think there is no STDs after this long time from first exposure.
Wish fast recovery!

Dr a recent photo after 5 days of anti biotic and anti septic wash Do I need to be scared of std Dr no pain just a really tiny discomfort and that it in scared why the white patch is not gone do I need to be scared
Brief Answer:
Still thinking no stds, continue meds for few more days
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
I have gone through the photo you provided and I noted that the abscess is still there. However, I have also noted improvement, it is getting better but slowly.
This is a good sign of betterment, the slow progress means that treatment should be lasting for a few more days.
I still think you do not have to worry about stds, but continue meds for longer time.
If after one week from now, it will be still there, then a culture of throat swab is advised as antibiotic resistance is suspected. Culture should be carried out to determine bacterial and fungal agents.
Wish fast recovery!

What do you mean by cultural swap it's to determine std?
Brief Answer:
explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
A throat culture and sensitivity testing will determine the right microbial agent (including bacteria, fungal) and the most sensitive antimicrobial agent (antibiotics or antifungal ).
Some STDS could be also determined but it's more to determine a strep throat or other.
All the best!
