Can STD Be Contracted Through Protected Vaginal And Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Fri, 22 Jan 2016
Question: I have a question regarding STD risk and the need for testing. I recently had protected sex with a sex worker - 4 days ago. She was a high priced stripper who seemed health conscious and safe, but obviously impossible to know her history / habits. I received oral sex and had vaginal intercourse. Condom in place at all times. No slippage or break. In tact upon exit. This the only time in my life. Been 100 %monogamous otherwise. I'm looking for a sense of risk and if I should get tested for an STD. If so, what tests and when?

Brief Answer:
Chances of getting HIV/STD with protected exposure is remote

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query.
I understood that you had protected Vaginal and oral sex. So chances of STD/HIV is remote.
It would not be always correct to judge an individual whether he /she is having STD /HIV or not by their external appearance.
STDs are more than 25 in number. All cannot be tested by investigations.
As your's was protected exposure, Tests are not necessary if you don't have any symptoms. In case, if you have any symptoms, seek the help of a Dermato-venereologist and have the investigations under his guidance.
