Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

SEROQUEL is QUETIAPINE and the drug is an antipsychotic drug. The drug causes sedation and increases appetite and results in weight gain. This side effect can be utilised for the use of drug in people without appetite. It is not the first line drug for people without appetite. But it can be used.

It is associated with a lot of other side effects like akathisia, restlessness, anxiety, reduced seizure threshold, increased sleepiness, sedation, weight gain, metabolic syndrome etc. You also have depression and the drug can help in stabilisation of mood and this is the probable reason your doctor has prescribed the drug to you.
