Can Tetanus Shot Be Taken For Injury On Face?

Question: hello doctor. my husband got hit by a handle bar while boarding an auto on 11.12.2015 early morning. please refer the attachment. he had kept ice cubes to stop bleeding yesterday. kindly advice whether to proceed for dressing? reg, XXXX

I have read your query , seen your attachment and understand your concern.

After seeing your husband injury pictures happened 30 hours back , I would advice clean wound with antiseptic Betadine solution & apply Metrogly P ointment thrice daily . It will heal within 10 days .

He will also need Injection Tetanus if not taken earlier . Just check into your nearest ER/healthcare center to get it at the earliest.

He will get relief .

if we miss TT shot once we got hurt, within how many hours we are supposed to have it

Your husband can take now also if TT shot miss after injury (It should be taken as soon as possible after injury ) .
If TT shot taken earlier within 5 years period then not needed .
