Question: Hello dr,
I have actually some queries:
1. On my visit to a relatives house yesterday my 1 year old son accidentally ate the dog tick (the fat one with blood) and he happened to swallow the blood though i took of the tick out. would like to know if it would create any problem?
2. can tminic be given to 13 month baby ( 2.5ml) in an interval of 5 hrs?
3. My daughter who is 7 years old and weight 26.2kg is having cold and dry cough and was prescribed tminic (5 ml 3 times) and levolin(5 ml 2 times). Kindly confirm if this is sufficient?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
No problem exept the possibility of infection if the tick or the blood is infected.
I suggest, you should watch for flu symptoms in your son. If he starts getting the flu in the next couple days, take him to the doctor.

Coming to your second query, yes syrup tminic can be given to the 13 month old child for cold and congestion in the dosage you mentioned.
Just check whether it is drops or syrup.

And coming to the last one, if i would be the treating physician tminic contains
1. phenylephrine which is given in 6 years to 11 years at the dose of 7.5 mg orally every 6 hours not to exceed 30 mg daily.
2. dextrometharphen which can be given as 5 to 10 mg orally every 4 hours or 15 mg every 6 to 8 hours, Maximum dose: 60 mg/day

So you can increase the dose 7.5 ml three times a day.

Hope I helped you. You will need to see the treating doctor, before making any modifications to medicine intake.
Feel free to ask further query if you have or kindly close the question.

Brief Answer:
Both levolin and tminic can be given 7.5ml 3 times

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.
Yes you can give both the medicine like tminic and levolin 7.5ml 3 times a day.
Levolin is not cough suppresant but it will reduce the cough if there is bronchospam or wheezing or cough which is more at night.
Together tminic and levolin will reduce the cough if it is allergic.
If your child gets the fever for more than 3 days see your doctor for starting antibiotics too.

Flu like symptoms means clod, cough, fever nausea, vomiting or even loose motions.

Hope i helped you.

Brief Answer:
Yes offcourse

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.
Yes you can give all the above items mentioned in your question.
Just one thing i would like to tell you that please give aavin milk undiluted to baby so that he will get the proper calories.
Horlicks may be added to milk but do not give aavine milk more than two to three times a day so that he should have room for homemade foods.

Ghee and egg white is also good to gain weight of baby.

Hope i helped you, kindly rate the answer.
