Add caclium channel blocker

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

I understand that you are on Toporol XL and Chlophazolin to reduce your blood pressure. Chlophazolin is a centrally acting anti hypertensive agent and it is usually prescribed as third or fourth line of anti hypertensives because of varied side effects.
Here is how you should go about it

1. Continue to take Chlophazolin, stopping it abruptly can cause rebound hypertension
2. Toprol xl can be taken upto 50 mg twice a day, please titrate it accordingly based on the blood pressure
3. If the blood pressure remains more than 140/90 I usually add a calcium channel blocker like cilinidipine 10 mg once or twice a day. The other options are ACE/ARB however that requires close monitoring of potassium and creatinine

Please approach your doctor with my suggestion, do not consider this my prescription to you.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
