Question : Hi! Im 12 weeks pregnant, I had a threat of miscarriage a month ago due to an UTI. They gave me antobiotics and that was supposed to help; I had a check a week later (three weeks ago) and everything looked fine! I haven't had any symptoms, however, I did get an order for some additional urine exams - and it shows I have Klebsiella Pneumoniae and it's resistance to a bunch of stuff except for Ertapenem, Meropenem, Amikacina, Gentamicina.
Not sure if any of these are safe during pregnancy...
I have my medical appt on Monday but I would like to know your opinion... Am I in risk of losing my baby?

                                    Brief Answer:
You will not lose your baby.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are suggestive of urine infection, drink a lot of warm water and avoid oily and spicy food.
Meropenam in low doses are safe during pregnancy.
As you are having urine infection, you have to treat the infection with the help of antibiotics ,so it will not affect your baby.
Do not worry much about it, get second level ultrasound for foetal well being and take the antibiotics to treat infection.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck
Regards
