I had some leftover valium from a previous detox--I know it should not be done that way. My mother just had a stroke in early November and my addiction did too.
I had 11 valium, I have taken 3 days of 3 pills of 10 mg each. I have 2 left,but I think I need a little more to get through this. 10 would be plenty. My doctor would send me to rehab, but my mom needs me and I am doing quite well.

Detoxing at home is absolutely not safe. This can result in seizures, coma and death, which would certainly not be helping your mother. You need to go to detox and then inpatient rehab, as your doctor suggests.
