Brief Answer:
can be used together

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Can be used together.

Timolol (A component of the cosopt) can affect the clearance of viagra at the level of the liver leading to increased levels, effects and side effects of the viagra.

This is a potential reaction due to absorption of the timolol from the eye. There is a technique that can be used to reduce systemic absorption that you may already be practicing- closing the eyes and and applying pressure over the tear duct for approximately 2 minutes.

This reduces systemic absorption significantly.

The 2 meds can be used together

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank you for the answer.. What if I skip a day of Cosopt and use viagra that day?
I have run out of cosopt in the past and missed a couple of days, and my optometrist. told me I was still in quite low numbers (12 or 13)

thank you Doctor for your advice..

Brief Answer:
not one of the cannot be used (contraindicated) medications

Detailed Answer:
HI

It is good that your values are still good if you miss a few days of the cosopt but I wouldn't be able to tell you to do this, that is up to you if it has not be shown to cause a sharp increase in your eye pressure.

The potential interaction means that levels of the viagra, its effect on ED and possible side effects may increase but you may or may not have any significant problems.
It is one of the medications that is monitored for possible interaction but not one of the medications that is said, cannot be used with viagra

You can consider trying the lower dose of viagra to see if it is effective for you with minimal or no consequences

Please feel free to ask anything else
