Question : Can taking Welbutrin help bring my current adderal dose 60MG XR down to a more tolerable dose in regards to these anxiety tics I develop whenever I am taking adderal. I take 60 mg once daily in order to have a productive day at school and do all my school work without any trouble concentrating. I am aware that this is an extremely high dose, but its seem to be the minimum amount needed for me to focus and be productive and do school work. ***Would welbutrin or any drug for that matter help me in ways to maybe lower my dose on adderal so I don't experience such intesne tics from the high dose. Maybe welbutrin will make me less depressed which would improve my recent lack of motivation and need for 60mg of adderall

Wellbutrin (bupropion) has some research evidence that it has some role in adhd...but this drug also has some side effects which are of concern when taken alongwith adderal-- both of them have seizure potential more than thought...and together this risk increases...
So, its better that you look towards other options like- clonidine/ pimozide or may be haloperidol for controlling tics.
For antidepressant action there are many safer choices available for you- like : escitalopram or sertraline. Though they dont have any role in managing hyperactivity/ impulsivity etc., of adhd but are safe and control depression and lethargy and other symptoms very well.
The tics due to adderal can develop anytime during its treatment. More over, complete control of tics when adderal leaves the body is indirect evidence that it is no tourettee disorder but only a side effect of adderal.
