Can Xanax Be Taken For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

Question: If my ocd is rooted/linked to my anxiety should i just take xanax witch i only took a couple times and it really seemed to help. Or zoloft which seems to cover ocd and my minir anxiety and mid to high depression. However i hear the zoloft sometimes doesnt work and has bad side effects. What do ti reccomend i do?

OCD is not treated well with Xanax. Instead, you should stick with an SSRI medication, which treats OCD well -- in this case, Zoloft. Zoloft often works well and has very few side effects. It is a safe and effective medication.
