I got tested for pheocromocytoma in plasma and in 24 hr urine. attatch are the results but I do not understand them. the dopamine its a little high instead of 30mcg its 45. can u explain all the results including the dopamine. is my test positive or negative for pheocychromocytoma
Brief Answer:
Need further investigation to confirm pheochromocytoma.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
I have reviewed your attached reports. All test reports are NORMAL except blood level of Dopamine, which is slightly elevated. It is NOT diagnostic.
I suggest to undergo plasma metanephrine test along with 24-hour urinary collection of catecholamine and metanephrine test. These are more sensitive and specific test to diagnose pheochromocytoma.
Abdominal CT scan or MRI scan is additional diagnostic modality to confirm the diagnosis. Kindly, consult with your local doctor regarding this.
Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.
