Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear XXXXXXX
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your query, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.
1) First of all do not worry.
2)It was sad to know about previous episode of ectopic pregnancy.
I will suggest to assess the patency of the other tube by doing postmenstrual HSG or Diagnostic Laparoscopy - Hysteroscopy, before you start planning for the next pregnancy.
Also, get a gynec check up done from your gynecologist - per speculum and per vaginal examination , to rue out genital tract infection or inflammation. The doctor might prescribe you broad spectrum antibiotics, also couple treatment with a kit of broad spectrum antibiotics to both the partners will be of help.
3) You are right in saying that your egg release day is day 18 to 20 of the cycle, as your normal cycle length is 30 to 34 days.
4)If you are doing USG for ovulation study, and your egg is released when follicle is between 18 to 24 mm size and endometrium above 7.5 mm, then usually egg quality is generally good. Also, your PCOS condition needs attention. Please start making lifestyle changes as PCOS is modifiable through lifestyle changes.
I usually suggest my patients following things to enhance fertility and improve pregnancy outcome-
- indulging in a healthy diet and regular exercise regime.
- Include plenty of fruits, salads, vegetables in the diet.
- Have adequate water intake , say 8 – 10 glasses per day.
- Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products, and refined sugars.
-Avoid substance abuse, if any.
- Start on FOLIC ACID, B12 supplements at least 3 months before you plan to have baby.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
Wish you great health.
