Brief Answer:
Considerations.

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It is certainly possible that the baby could be from this set of parents. Blood group type a may include both a and O characteristics. The Rh may only be present on one chromosome of the father so the father couldtransmit one of the Rh negative jeans to the baby along with the Rh negative XXXXXXX from the mother. In that case it is definitely possible.

if the father has blood type AB positive and mom is O- then baby could be A+, A-, B+ or B- since do not know if the father has both copies of the RH gene.

thanks again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga

Detailed Answer:
if the father is AO blood type as we assume then baby could be Apos A neg Opos or O negative.

if father is AA then baby is always type A - rh pos or rh neg if the mom is O negative.

Hello Doctor,

Sorry - I am bit confused...

Do you mean
if father is A1 positive and mom O negative = baby will be A negative or A positive? No other combination?

Please reply.

Detailed Answer:
Depends on genotype of father. Father is either AA or AO. If father is AA then baby will always be type A - (AO genotype). If father is AO, however then baby can be either AO or OO (type O).

You need more details about genotypes of the parents because being Rh+ means you have at least one Rh gene - you could have two copies however. This influences the potential to pass the Rh gene along.

Do you have a specific reason for asking the question?

Thanks,

Dr. G

Detailed Answer:
You would have to request this from a special blood bank lab.

In question one: Baby will be either type A or type O

In question 2 - baby will be type A or type B
