Question : I had a neck injury that led to a problem with sunken eyes and serious eye swelling around both eyes, for the last few months. Is this due to a blockage in the sinus because I can no longer breathe as well. I had a CT scan that shows mucos in the sinuses but it isn't really awful. Can a neck injuy damage nerves that keep everything circulating? I saw an ent and he just gave me antibiotics and didn't want to hear anything else about my injury. I feel it is serious and I have talked to several doctors and no one will listen. I went from breathing well and pretty large eyes to small eyes with layers of wrinkles all around and pain in my face and inability to breathe as well on both sides in a 24 hour period. I even took photos of before and after and it was dramatic to see.
when I went on antibiotics I noticed a 50% reduction in swelling and breathing improved but not all the way. He put me on another round and I ended up getting sick from the antibioics, it was 1000mg biaxin, the first round was 1600mg augmentin for 2 weeks.
I went to an opthamologist and she didn't see anything that was a problem either.
In conclusion, clearly my eyes are sunk in, there is swelling above and below my eyes, eye pain and forehead pain. when taking breathes in clearly something is blocking my passages. I worry that my eyes are pressing in on my sinus cavity. Is there any way to fix this because I not only feel unwell but I look like I aged overnight. Is there any way to fix it????

Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. An extremely rare cause of the signs and symptoms that you have described (and may be overlooked) is a bilateral Horner's Syndrome following a neck injury. It may also explain the nasal blockage due to unopposed parasympathetic nervous system activity or predominance.
2. Get a Neurologist's opinion.
3. What was the nature of your neck injury?
4. I would pefer review your CT images.
5. You may also share the before and after photographs here.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
