Question : Can a nursing mother transfer lyme disease to nursing infant?
Brief Answer:
NO
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
Please, you must be bitten by a tick in order to contract Lyme's disease. breastfeeding mothers cannot transmit it to their children.
Please, tetracycline is not good for breastfeeding mothers as it passes into milk and would cause permanent discoloration of the child's' teeth in future. Talk to his doctor about this for consideration as I strongly think this should not be done.
I hope this helps. I wish her well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
