Can A Patient Undergoing PAO Surgery Conceive?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Jul 2016
Question: I need hip PAO surgery for dysplasia. I'm 39, so my husband and I were going to try for a baby and now this news! Do I try to get pregnant first given that I'm almost 40 and put off surgery, or get the surgery out of the way and hope I will still be able to get pregnant after I recover? Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Better to plan pregnancy after surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I will suggest you to go for the surgery and try for conception after recovery.
This surgery is unlikely to have any effect on the chances of pregnancy.
However, delaying the surgery and planning pregnancy with hip ailment can lead to complications and difficulty in carrying the pregnancy.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
