Question: Hi, I am a bisexual woman. I had an encounter with a female prostitute about three weeks ago. She fingered me a bit rough (although I didn't see blood), and we kissed a lot. I am not sure if she fingered or touched herself previous to fingering me.

Two weeks after the encounter I started experiencing a headache, some neck pain, then some fever, and then a lot of coughing with a lot of mucus. The fever lasted for about 3 days (fever at its highest was about 38 degrees). Mucus lasted for about 5 days, and I still have a bit of a cough. Are these the symptoms of ARS?

Brief Answer:
There is no risk for HIV.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You should know that you cannot get HIV from fingering you even if she had fingered herself before because this is not a likely route for HIV transmission.
This above mentioned situation is not related to ARS but could be just a viral situation.

I hope I have answered your question. Feel free to ask me further.
