Can A Person Diagnosed With Pick's Disease Be Return To Full Functionality?

Question: A good friend on mine was diagnosed with Picks disease almost 3 years ago when he was 59. He had become depressed due to family issues and years of the stress caused by running a successful contracting business.
Within 2 months of the diagnosis my friend was put on disability, all of his assets were put into his wifes' name. His Son took over his business. He was put on an anxiety medicine and came out of his depression with in a matter of months. Even during these 1st few months he was a full time care taker for his dying Father who lived 3 hours away. Cooking cleaning, taking him to appointment and managing his medicines. I know Picks disease is fast acting and the symptoms are devastating but after his anxiety medicine took effect I could see no change in any of his abilities or personality. He is active, helping his son in the business, doing everything he did before including water skiing but his neurologist still insist he is disabled because of Picks disease. He need another opinion to get off of disability and get his life back. How and where should he go. He lives in mid central Ohio. Thank You for any advise you can give.

Brief Answer:

Can you upload his reports?

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I understand your concerns. Is it possible for you to upload his MRI Brain/other brain imaging reports and other documents, so that I can have a better insight about his medical issues?

Please follow-up with supportive documents so that I can answer this well further.

I have spoken to my friend about setting up an account himself so he can deal directly with the Doctors. If you could please answer a general question about Picks' disease for me. If he truly had Picks can the person improve to the point where he is fully functional? 3 years ago when he was diagnosed the Dr. told his wife to " get ready to go through hell" with him and the disease. Thinking her husband would be spiraling downward she made life changing decisions that can't be undone. As I said he is now fully functional, is working some but is limited to how much money he can make due to the disability rules. That is why he is seeking the 2nd opinion. Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Picks' disease usually doesn't behave like that.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

If Picks' disease is confirmed, it is less likely to bring so much improvement after the diagnosis.Besides, this is valid if Picks' disease is a confirmed diagnosis.I can tell better after going through the documents.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer them else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
