Question : I am looking for credible research information about people with Aspergers and their difficulty in coping with heat.
I need proof of this to take to the Dr to get some forms filled out for a electricity rebate.

I know he has problems with heat but just want that research data to prove it.

Brief Answer:
Here is some research that cites heat intolerance in people with autism:

Detailed Answer:
Here is an article that might help. Please see, under "2. Method", paragraph 2:

"the present review is interested in what is considered to be well-known painful events to the majority of individuals, such as needles in the skin and high and cold temperature."

It was difficult finding research specifically about Aspergers and Heat Intolerance, possibly because temperature sensitivity is now regarded as common knowledge:

See under "Sensory sensitivity..." here: http://www.yyyyyyyyyyy.com/yyyyyyyyyy_yyyyyyyyyyyy/page3_em.htm

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much.
I had been searching on my Uni database (I am studying to be a scientist) and I too had found it so difficult to find anything. I think you are right in that it is common knowledge and hope the doctor thinks so too.

That article you found is great as that is one I had not found and has lots of great information. The emedicine info is great too so I can print that out and ask the Dr to fill it out based on that.
