Question : hello doctor....i am 25 years old.....i got abortion 5 years ago from then im not getting periods regularly.....i took tablets (i-pill) for not getting pregnancy.....now we r planning for a baby......last period was mar 15 until now i didnt get my period.....i took pregnancy test but it is negative......

The main and common cause for irregular periods is hormonal imbalance, this may or may not be connected to the abortion you had but needs detailed evaluation with hormonal assay and an ultrasound scan of the reproductive organs.

A few medications also can cause hormonal imbalance, if you are on any long term medications to get them revised. In case when not needed even stop the medication. Only medications who have strong indication must be consumed.
