Question : I accidentally took my husband's blood pressure medicine. He's on Lorsartan, 40 mg. I do not have high blood pressure. Sometimes it is even a little low. Should I be concerned? Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Need not worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.
Accidental intake of a single dose of Losartan need not be worried much.
It may cause hypotension or orthostatic hypotension in coming 24 hours. This will depend on your present blood pressure.
So just watch for features like dizziness, light headedness, fainting etc.
If this happens, kindly see your doctor.
Avoid prolonged standing or walking .Avoid rapid change in position(like sudden getting up from sitting or lying down position). Drink enough oral fluids.
The effect will wear off in 24 hours.
Try to avoid future mishaps.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
Need not worry.
