Question : Im currntly on Azithromycin 250mg. Is it safe to consume alcohol?
Brief Answer:
there is no contraindication
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Azithromycin and alcohol do not interact, at least in a clinically significant manner. Despite that, caution is advised if you intend to consume large amounts of alcohol because the drug's metabolism requires a functioning liver. Large amounts of alcohol may impair the liver function. Moderate consumption is considered safe.

One last thing doc. What is considered moderate drinking ?
Brief Answer:
2 or 3 drinks
Detailed Answer:
A couple of drinks is OK. Of course there is no strict rule for the number of drinks or ethanol quantity, so you should use common sense. Getting drunk might mean that your liver struggles to cope with the alcohol load.
