Can An Ovarian Cyst Cause Tingling Sensation In Legs?
Question: Can a diagnosed ovarian cyst (had an ultra sound) that is 5 cm cause leg tingling ? What symptons happen when it ruptures ? Will it go away with my period ?
Hi, yes it usually goes away in 2-3 menstrual cycles. Regular monitoring is necessary to monitor size of the cyst. Sharp pain and cramping can occur when it ruptures but should last for only a few hrs. Any longer/severe should be reported immediately. Unlikely cause for leg tingling at this size. Hope this helps. Pls thank me if satisfied

Ive been having cramping for the last week, sometimes more intense, sometimes dull. I dont feel very ill though. As i understand it, a twisted ovary or ruptured intenstinal walk causes intense discomfort and nauseas. Obviously if i experience this i will head back to the doctors for another ultra sound. I was going to wait until after my period to check the cyst again. I am also starting a new birth control in the next few days when my period begins. It is a higher and more stable level of hormones which should help stop ovulation.
Does it seem alright to wait until after my period before i have another ultra sound even though the pain is constantly there at varying levels ?
Should i be asking for a blood test as well ?
Thank you so much for your help :

Brief Answer:
Please consult OBGYN right away.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up
Functional ovarian cysts can become big enough to cause symptoms like yours.
If you have been having pain the whole of last week, I urge you to consult your OBGYN for a scan right away.
Blood tests may be required if hormone levels need to be assessed and if the cysts are large enough to necessitate a laparoscopic reduction in cyst size.
A complete blood count, estradiol levels, in addition to a surgical panel, (if necessary)
If it's not too big (less than 6cms) you may be started on oral contraceptive pills right away to enable reduction in size.
If you are sexually active, please take a pregnancy test if you miss your period.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with or if you need further clarification..
I wish you well.
