I put in a question about why I might have an scent about me that my sister describes as a corpse or food gone bad, but I wonder if it is related to another question I have? I have a terrible problem with excess gas. I have taken all gas producing foods, drinks, etc. out of my diet, take Bean0 before every meal, do not chew gum. I take a probiotic. I listed all the meds I take, maybe they have something to do with this? She says the scent is not the gas, but coming from my person. I don't know if these issues are related?

No, it is not my sense of smell I am concerned with. My sister says that I smell like a corpse or rotting food. Please reconsider the question.

Brief Answer:
Please provide some more information....

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for the clarifications.

In this case, I need to clarify some other things about your concerns:

- do you too smell your body odor as distorted, or only your sister?

- did you noticed any changes in body sweating after you started using these meds?

Awaiting....

I had no idea I had a body odor. I can not smell it. After my sister brought it up my brother also said it was true and had been going on for some time. I have not been sweating any more then usual.

I have also gained 70lb. in the last year. My doctor put me on a diet, which I have been following strictly - even more then the diet, but I continue to gain. I have never been a fat person, always lean. I am now 190 - 5ft. 6". Terrible. I have been tested for thyroid, diabetes.

Brief Answer:
Possible side effects of drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.

Drugs use like Crestor etc. can result in unpleasant body odor, Doxepin use may result in unpleasant breath odor, so, if others feel an unpleasant body odor from you, it is likely related to drugs you use.

Gaining weight also is one of the possible side effects of antidepressants and antiseizure drugs, even if you follow a strict diet.

If these side effects become bothersome, discuss with your Doctor about changing or reducing drugs responsible for these.

Hope I helped you.

Take care.
