Brief Answer:
Inform the treating neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Alcohol related seizures may be due to alcohol binge, associated hypoglycemia or head injury.
The treatment is difficult in such a situation as drugs administered are having abnormal profile in blood.
Usually duration of treatment in alcohol related seizure is less if alcohol is stopped but in other cases the duration may range from 2-3 years or more.
It's best to inform the treating doctor as some antiepileptics are not preferred in alcoholic especially with deranged liver function.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
