Brief Answer:
Inguinal Hernia

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

From the details you have given, you seem to have symptoms pertaining to an Indirect Inguinal Hernia. I would suggest it best for you to consult with a general surgeon for proper examination and further management.
Ideally, a surgery is required for complete cure. You can discuss this with your treating surgeon.

Meanwhile,
- Avoid straining while defecating and urinating.
- Consume more of fiber rich diet to avoid constipation.
- Avoid lifting weights.
- Wear tight panties to prevent any torsion of testes.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards

I HAVE ALREADY GOT A HERNIA SURGERY DONE ON BOTH SIDES WITH A NYLON GAUZE INSERTED ON EACH SIDE.
THIS CANNOT BE AN ISSUE OF HERNIA DUE TO THE BI LATERAL SURGERY DONE.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for writing back,

Sorry for the inadvertent delay in replying,

Since you have got your hernia repair done, this pain over the left side of your abdomen can just be the effect of spermatic cord tugging over the abdominal muscles. Nothing to worry about that, as long as you do not have any symptoms to testicle pain, or, visible veins over the scrotum , or, any difference in size of testes.

Continue wearing tight panties and avoid lifting heavy objects if any. Also you can consider consulting with a general surgeon for better examination.

I hope this helps,

Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for writing back,

The recurrence rate of inguinal hernia repair largely depends on multiple factors like age, obesity, the size of the defect, the type of surgery done, general lifestyle etc. However, in general, the recurrence rate is very less when done with a mesh repair. But as I mentioned earlier, if you have any of the following symptoms, it is worthwhile to get it promptly checked by a general surgeon as such decisions can only be made after proper physical examination. As you must be familiar with, look for the following symptoms:
- Swelling or pain that appears over the abdomen(just above the pelvis) on coughing or straining
- heavy sensation in the groin
- any particular swelling in the scrotum
- testicular pain.

I hope this helps,

Regards
