Can Autoimmune Hepatitis Be Transmitted Through Sexual Contact?

Question: my boyfriend has the beginnings of liver problems and is on ursodiol and now Cipro and Flagyl. We enjoy oral sex but since I found this out (he is 62 and a former drinker) I am concerned about this. we use condoms. What is best practice on oral sex at th is point. Sorry to be graphic. He has an enlarged liver and autoimmune hepatitis (I am told not contagious). It's all a bit scary.

Autoimmune hepatitis is not contagious as far as sexual practices..

Welcome to HCM. Please note that unless he has been tested and is negative for hepatitis B and C, then you are safe, there is no concern as far as oral sex is concerned with the spread of autoimmune hepatitis. I hope this helps.

autoimmune hep you wrote is not contagious "as far as sexual practices" Is it contagious in other instances I need to know? I will ask about any hep B and C tests being performed.

Autoimmune hepatitis is not contagious, it is brought about due to autoimmune status. As I stated, hepatitis B and C are highly contagious with sexual practices.
