Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing your query I'm of the following opinion:

1. In Ayurveda, I usually use bamboo for the common cold, sore throat, sinus congestion, and cough, the best example is 'Sitopladi churan' [which contains Vanshalochna (inner white part of the bamboo tree) for tuberculosis and other wasting diseases.

2. recent studies have suggested that bamboo is an important source of silica [silicon] which promotes healthy hair, nail growth and is a building block for collagen [the protein used for rejuvenation of skin and joints, also it prevents absorption of aluminum in digestive tract [responsible for Alzheimer's disease]

3. one cup of bamboo tea leaf contains 70% organic silica [so 2-3 cups every day will show noticeable difference in nails and hairs

PS. although it is proven that bamboo leaves contain silica, no clinical studies are done to prove the same [i.e either the benefits or recommended dosage] and since it is regarded as a dietary supplement thus you should know that supplements aren't subjected to rigid standards

4. since bamboo is high in potassium content and you are taking losartan [potassium sparing diuretic] thus it may result in dangerous level of high potassium level [hyperkalemia] so check with regular potassium level

PS. check with Thyroid Function Test [T.F.T.] as it may aggravate disorder associated with the Thyroid gland
