Detailed Answer:

Hi,

After reviewing the age of the child I'm of the following opinion:
1) Although at his /her age mother's milk is the best immunity provider but if the cough is severe you can surely give tulsi leaves as follow:
-Take 5-6 XXXXXXX leaves and boil in 1cup of water for two minutes. Thereafter strain the water and allow it to cool, then give 1 ml or 10 drops thrice daily or as and when required. (preferably lukewarm)

PS. If symptoms persists consult a paediatrician or contact your primary care doctor.
