Question : I have recently started taking diltiazem for paroxysmal atrial fib with rvr. Tnree questions: can i continue taking calcium supplements? can i take nsaids (naproxen) when needed? do I take it with or without food? Chafs vasc 2 score is 2 and the other hemorrhage score is 0.

2. Yes, you can take when required but don’t use them frequently as they have adverse effects

It has been suggested that I start on Xarelto because of 2 score on chads vasc2. I am reluctant to do that because of the long term effects of taking anticoagulant. Am I crazy?

Hi,

No, it’s nothing being like crazy. It’s normal to be reluctant to start any long term medication.

But as the XXXXXXX vasc score is 2 so it’s advisable to start with anticoagulants so as to prevent devastating complications like stroke. You can start with Xarelto as it’s a safe drug and it doesn’t require any monitoring with the help of blood tests.
