Question : I need help please. I am going to call my optomologist this am. He did cataract surgery both eyes oct 18. My only good eye is my left. Right eye is a lazy eye. I was hoping for non biased information. See picture of left (good) It hurts a lot recently-lower part toward side of my face ( not nose side). and i use lots of eye drops. I noticed a small discolored area a couple months ago and it diminished with eye drops. It has been bothering me a lot the last few days and i looked closely. The area is now much larger and darker and I see Red blood vessels. I saw optomologist last October. I am 75 w diabetic and blood pressure problems controlled by medicines. Also v high calcium scan of 1300( 1300) . I am very very nervous about going into a dr office. Especially an optomologist where they are so close. I would be appreciative of any info before calling-marty

Brief Answer:
This looks like scleral degenration

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the question . in the picture the dark area looks like scleral degeneration and its usually benign so we don't need to worry . Still you should have a check up for the same . Secondly as you mentioned that you have diabetes and hypertension you should have a 6 monthly retina examination . Hope my answer helps you . Regards
