In GC/MS false positive results are rare.

Hello again
GC/MS test or Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy test is a very specific test and has very high specificity. The chances that the test shows false positive result are rare. This test detects D-amphetamine and D-Methamphetamine specifically.
Thanks.

Sorry.. but again, would dextroamphetamine shows up as d-methamphetamine in the GC-MS test? I am currently taking the prescribed medication for ADHD. I am testing posititive for d-methamphetamine so being accused of taking illegal drugs when I am not. I need a second opinion from a professional because my doctor has written me a note stating that it could possibly be tested positive for d-amphetamine and d-methamphetamine.
I really don't understand why these people accused me of taking illegal drugs when I have a doctor's note stating facts.

                                    Brief Answer:
GC/MS is a confirmatory test.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again
GC/MS test is not used commonly for screening purposes. The test is a specific test. If you are on medical amphetamines and haven't taken d-meth then this could be due to false report. But I don't think the test will give false positive results. You can request for retest. Screening tests usually come false positive and detects only category of substance.
Thanks.
